Meatloaf, BBQ Style!

Barbecue Meatloaf
1/2 pound chopped mushrooms
1 egg , slightly beaten
1-2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1-2 tablespoons Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Mrs. Dash Steak Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
dash pepper
1 large clove garlic, chopped
1 1/2 cups soft breadcrumbs bread crumbs
2 pounds ground beef
1/4-1/2 cups barbecue sauce
1/2 cups of chopped onion

If you are using canned mushrooms, they should be drained first. I prefer to use fresh mushrooms, however I was short on time and didn't want to run to the store, so I used canned.

In a mixing bowl, combine egg, Worcestershire, BBQ sauce, Country Bobs Sauce, seasonings and bread crumbs. Let stand about 5 minutes.

Chopped Mushrooms
I prefer Red Onion for it's sweetness
Then add in the ground beef, mushrooms and chopped onion. Depending on how much you love onion in your meatloaf you can add and subtract the amount. I keep mine about 1/2 cup but load it up if you love onion. Same with the garlic. I like... OK LOVE garlic so I use a large clove, but again adjust to your taste.
This is my cute little garlic keeper

Shape into a loaf and place on a lightly greased baking dish. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Brush additional barbecue sauce on top and bake another 10-15 minutes.
Set your DoneRight Kitchen Timer and bake at 350 for 1 hour. Brush additional barbecue sauce on top and bake another 10-15 minutes.

I plugged this recipe into my Cook'n Recipe Organizer and the estimated nutrition value based on 10 servings is as follows:Calories, 237. Calories from fat 48. Total fat 16g. Sodium 873g. Cholesterol 65mg. Protein 17g.

Not too bad! Of course depending on what you add/subtract, it change. This recipe is very tasty. I love the barbecue flavor in the meat and it stayed moist even with the long baking time. I served this with corn on the cob and pasta salad. YUM!!!

How I love my timer, let me count the ways......

I was watching America's Test Kitchen a couple of weeks ago and they were reviewing gadgets. I love this segment because it shows many new items and gives honest opinions of each. Well, this time they reviewed a 5-in-1 Kitchen timer by DoneRight.

I was immediately in love.

This is awesome! It's shaped like a little stove and has a timer for the oven and all 4 burners. Where was this at Thanksgiving when I was cooking up a storm? I went on the site and their inventory was sold out but they directed me to another site and I snatched one right up. I ordered from Vat19 and it was delivered in 2 business days.

I got the red one and I just love it. I don't have to worry about setting the timer on the oven or microwave and not hearing when it goes off. This little guy is portable and I just bring it into the living room if I'm watching TV or the office if I'm working. I don't know how I lived without it!
