I love VeggieTales. As a Sunday School teacher, I find their messages pertinent to children and also it is presented in a way that is entertaining and informative. When I was presented with the opportunity to review the latest VeggieTales DVD "The Little House That Stood" I was excited to see what the message was. I was pleasantly surprised. The DVD focused on building a solid foundation in order to weather any storm.

About The Little House That Stood
When the Three Little Pigs roll into Cabbageville looking to build some new houses, they meet one builder with a plan and two without a clue! Larry builds with hay, Mr. Lunt with bricks, but only Bob builds his houses on a firm foundation - following the wise plans from the Master Builder's Handbook! Will the Little Piggies make the right choices when it comes to building their houses - and their lives - on solid ground? Find out in this parable that shows kids when they follow God's blueprints, then can stand strong when the storms come!
My thoughts:
"The Little House That Stood" really brought the message home that without a solid foundation in God, you can blow away in a storm. The film follows Bob, Larry and Mr. Lunt as they build three separate houses to win a builder of the year award. While Larry & Mr. Lunt focus on the prize, Bob focuses on the foundation and follows the wise advise of an old wise builder who follows the Master Builders Handbook.
This story follows the parable of the wise and foolish builders in Matthew and presents it in such a way that the child viewer will understand the concept. I really liked how they used the story of The Three Little Pigs in presenting the parable. Most kids will identify with the pigs and I think it will encourage them to watch.
The DVD also includes bonus feathers such as "Happy Tooth Day" sing-along and a second story featuring the VeggieTales characters retelling the story of Humpty Dumpty. In all, this DVD is a must have for any parent of small children.
